Hello and welcome. Jeanne is our host for this weekâs color challenge. She chose Bermuda Bay, Bumble Bee, and Blueberry Bushel for us to play with. Add another âBâ color is the dessert. I added Basic Black
Yes, I know I used this pull-apart background stamp for last weekâs challenge. This is what usually happens when I get a new stamp that I absolutely love. I tend to use it a little too much! So far, Iâve made about a dozen backgrounds with different color combinations using this same background stamp. Itâs positively addicting.
Today I used my background stamp with Concord & 9th inks which look pretty similar to the SU inks. When I use a bold background like this one, I try to keep the rest of the card simple. I stamped âhoorayâ in crisp black ink on vellum, heat embossed it, and fussy cut around the letters. I added a black sentiment strip with the words heat embossed in white. I then added a few black âenamel dots.â The dots are actually made of unpainted wood. I used a black Sharpie and Ranger Glossy Accents to make them look like the real thing.
Thank you so much for stopping by. Be sure to join us for this week's challenge.

Fun card Marianne! I understand about using something you love over and over. For me it's embellishments - every card I make will get the same sequin, ribbon or whatever until I tire of it.

I like this bold background - and stamping your sentiment on vellum and fussy cutting (whoa)is a creative idea - thanks for the tip on your enamel dots- I have some wood embellishments that I am going to try this on

Marianne, I can see why you keep using this background stamp! It does such an amazing job of creating a dynamic background. I also love how you cleverly heat embossed on vellum and fussy cut. This is a great congratulatory card!

I like seeing another card of yours using the chevrons. It works great for using with different colors combinations. Wonderful black sentiment and the one that is white on black.
