This card is for 2 challenges, Jean's MMJ challenge to use recycled items and also for the MIX recycled challenge too.
We had a 5 day lockdown here in the West in Oz this week and although my week was pretty much as it always is, I thought that our poppets (DGC) might want to do art through FaceTime with me. We did this a lot together last year during lockdown and it is fun. I sent them a message to find some recycled cardboard, paper bags and anything else they could find. They opted for the easy route...cardboard LOL.
I started with an Aussie Post box and tore the paper off it to give a corrugated and textured look. Brayered some of my paints across it. The poppets were keeping up at this stage although I lost them whilst trying to take their paper off their cardboard boxes LOL. They opted to paint and do their own design on their boxes which were pretty creative by the time they had finished.
Back to mine....I cut a piece out of a cereal box and painted that with different colours and then die cut my flowers. I found the blue strip that I had die cut previously in my stash and as it had ink on it I rubbed some of the paint on it. The faux washi tape I had made for an MMJ challenge some time ago using alcohol inks. It was made using brown paper. Plonked a piece of that on my card.
The tag was cut out of an Aussie Post envelope in my MM stash. I inked the edges with paint and added twine...a piece in my bin.
The dark circle was die cut out of my cereal box and painted. The inner coloured circle was cut out of a paper towel that I had in my stash and used for mopping up inks with. The butterfly was also in my stash and created using a watercolour BG out of my stash. I spied a piece of ribbon and with a sequin on in my bin, plucked that out and cut a piece off and added to my butterfly. The circle is stapled onto the card.
The sentiment was handwritten on a piece of paper I had in my stash and which had been used for rolling off paint.
Although it may not meet all of Jean's challenge I did use at least 99% of recycled items. I could have made the circle using bottle tops and made the butterfly out of something else but I wanted simple when creating with our poppets.
TFL. Happy day

Your poppets would have loved being able to create along with you and yours has all the colors I craved but didn’t use in mine.
I like the way the punched edger you used imitates the pattern of the corrugated cardboard and the flowers do add joy.
Well done with using pieces from past challenges. My hubby saw me typing and commented that he really liked it.
Fun colors that reflect the vivid colors of Australia.
