Today we are challenged by Kia to paint a snowy winter landscape - and a challenge it was!
Both video's showed the artist starting with globs of blue but that wasn't working too well for me so I ended up covering as much as I could later in my painting. I then laid in what I hope looks like an icy blue sky and once dry added some streaks of yellow to remind me where my light was coming from when I added my shadows. I wanted to add some "purple mountain majesty" in the distance which after the fact look more like rolling hills. (that'll be okay) Mixed green, purple & brown to tap in my pine trees over the blue globs and brown and black for my bare root tree on the right. Surprisingly, one of the hardest parts for me was laying in the shadows for my trees. The Old Masters can rest easy - I'll never be a threat to their artistic talent -lol - but like last week I am happy enough with the results for a beginner.

I say you did a marvelous job on this painting! I could NOT get blue blobs of paint to become a scene either. I tried 3 times. The 4th ended up ok. Your scene is just gorgeous and I love the shadows you made. You made me laugh in your link about illusion! Ha! Well, my friend, you DID make a beautiful winter scene!
