The card base is made from junk mail covered with brown filler paper from packaging. I painted on light blue, the added white on the sky and salty ocean for the water. The burlap represents the sandy shore, and some crumpled paper is supposed to be driftwood. I added some sailboats and birds with a black pen. The only cardstock used is for the seagull. I stamped him a 2nd time on cereal box chipboard and roughly cut it a little smaller to raise the upper part of the bird to the same level as that which is on top of the burlap.

What a Fantastic use of recycled items, Melody! Cute penned in sailboats and a cereal box seagull....I need to remember to save mine. The driftwood was a great idea too. The piece on the left looks like one of those long slender seashells~

Very cleaver to use burlap to represent the sand! Fantastic design, love beach scenes! When I lived in California I was 8 miles from the ocean and loved it. Great job on the challenges!
