This is my entry for the Alphabet Challenge's O for ocean theme. I used last week's sketch challenge for my layout and tried last Wednesday's faded water stenciling tutorial for making my background panel, such fun!
First, I chose Sahara Sand for my card base - couldn't resist with that color name for an ocean card. Next I followed the Faded Water Stenciling tutorial found here: Faded Water Stenciling Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers to create my ocean water panel. I used the large scallop edgelit upside down to get my white capped waves. I stamped the sea horse using Crumb Cake ink on the Sahara Sand cs. I used that classic technique of rock n' roll to add some Soft Suede darker ink at various points around the sea horse. Probably the most challenging part was fussy cutting the sea horse! I did move that circle element of the sketch because my sea horse is facing right and I didn't want her looking off the edge of the card. I decided to add a vellum circle behind my sea horse and the sea horse is popped up with dimensionals.
This was fun to make. Thanks for looking!
