I LOVE the Aurora Borealis, so I just had to participate in this week's Watercolor Challenge. I figured I managed a "lump" last week for the Teapot Challenge so I could probably handle streaks this week. I don't have watercolor paints, so I used my watercolor pencils. I put down a lot of "lead" hoping the colors would be bright and that worked. I didn't get a thumbprint this time (I taped the edges); but I still got blobs. I'm guessing I dropped water because I am not too careful when I am flinging around the brush. Didn't have a good tree stamp, so I used the Time Holtz tree line die. Like many of you, I am a big fan of Nancy's (NWilliams6) work, especially her Bible Journal pages. I perused her Gallery for some inspiration and found it in two pages:
The first is a page for Psalms which included the 121 Psalm. The beginning is one of my favorite passages and it pops into my head often. And, Nancy used trees on her page too. Here's the link:
The second she titled Angels Among Us. And, that's one of my favorite beliefs. I do believe Angels appear in many forms and guises when we need them. And, it's also one of my very favorite songs by Alabama. One line in the song is, "To guide us with the Light of Love". I bet that's what the Aurora Borealis is -- pure love. Here's the link to Nancy's beautiful page:
I really can't draw -- that's not humility, it's just a fact. But I did like how this turned out and I will probably do it again in the future. I think streaks just might be my "thing". LOL
I hope you are all having an inspired day. Remember to keep your eyes and heart open so that when your Angels whisper to you, you can hear them. Here's a link to the Alabama song, if you're interested. TFL

Oh, wow, I love how you colored the Northern Lights with your watercolor pencils. They look fabulous. And, what a scene with your angel wings and Bible verse. Yes, I love Nancy's Bible journal pages. And, about the angels, one of my favorite verses is Hebrews 13:2. The die cut trees are great. You've made such a special and beautiful card. Thanks for joining us this week for the challenge. And, of course, I like the Alabama group. Have to listen to the song.

Love the verse! Your watercolor is still watercolor. You did a great job blending and getting them all mixed well without the pencil lines.
Gorgeous card!

Wow, this is Completely Gorgeous, Debbie! I'm also loving that beautiful scripture with the angelic wings on either side! You've created a real beauty here! I don't have any wc paints either, so I just use ink pads that I squeeze onto their covers, but I hadn't thought to use pencils. Love the look created with your pencils~

Not only is your painting beautiful but so is your write-up! I like the idea of keeping my eyes and heart open for good around me! That scripture is so beautiful and has been a favorite of mine since I was a teen. You did an amazing job with the pencils. I would have never guessed it wasn't watercolor paint. Beautiful!
