I made this card for this week's Tickle a Teapotter challenge. Jean, jkanack, is the hostess: "My challenge to you is to use Mary's art, environment and imagination to create something unique, including something recycled. I hope you're inspired by her creatures, her colors, her environment, her whimsy."
I found this photo of a sculpture in Mary's yard and her home is on the National Historic Register in Milwaukee, Wis. I sketched my images on watercolor paper by looking at this black and white photo. Then, I chose bright watercolors because Mary also used bright colors for her paintings.
This month we send our cards to our fellow teapotters. Note to Sabrina, I hope you can send this to someone who won't be offended. Maybe to Jean! I didn't think of that possibility when I created this.
My recycled piece is the bit of watercolor paper I wrote on that was in my trash bag.

Gracie I love love this. It is so artsy and clever. Love all the colours. Some lucky Teapotter will love this. Shame I’m not playing this month lol. TFS. Happy day. Hugs

what a wonderfully creative take on Mary's painting. You certainly captured the vibrant colors, Gracie! I would be honored as well to have this in my studio.

I am laughing out loud, Gracie. Send it to Jean, she's never offended..............thank you so much for that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You crack me up. I'm still laughing as I type and tears have started. You really amped up the gallery with this fabulousness. yes I'm kind of surprised that Mary didn't do more color outside but her house inside more than makes up for that. Making that black and white into color does bring out the nudity a bit more, does it not?????????????????????

Love your interpretation of Mary's work. Love the colour and am so jealous of your drawing abilities. I'm not sure if the comment of sending this to someone who won't be offended is an inside joke but I can't think that anyone would be.
