Anna's MIX challenge today was to colour an image with one medium and then add more colour to it with another. So that ruled out the Tyvek pieces that were looking at me on my desk. This DP has been out since before Christmas, meant to be used with a birdhouse die - so I went looking for a stamp and pulled this one out. Stamped, embossed with clear EP and coloured with Twinkling H2Os. Waited impatiently for it to dry and added some more colour and shading with Polychromos pencils. Sponged lightly with Tumbled Glass DOX while still in the die. matted, and added to the base after adding an MFT jumbo ric-rac, embossed with Swiss Dots and dotted with a white gel pen. The sentiment was cut from the same green, layered on cardboard and also dotted with a white gel pen.
Not really what I think of as a mixed media card, but it meets the challenge criteria, and was cheerful to make on a frosty, cold day. I think I've always coloured those little birds blue before...

Most definitely cheerful. I don't know how they look in blue, but the look perfect in yellow. Reminds me of little rubber ducks in a tub. Love the dp you used to highlight the image. Enjoyed reading all the steps too. Certainly paid off because this is adorable!

Super cute card! I thought you had combined with the IC card as well at first, because this reminded me of some of the shoes! I love the little bird spa with the umbrella.
