I like unusual color combos (sometimes), I kept looking at this week's, thinking I'd seen it before. I sort of had: it's close to the colors of the Irish flag! Cajun craze has a bit more red in it than the Irish orange but it sure made me pause. We are brewing either Irish coffee or Chai latte tea. This is also for Wednesday's sketch...thanks, Pat!
I started out by making a DOx background with the lucky clover, rusty hinge and spiced marmalade. Added some ground espresso because it needed some depth. As I'm doing this, I'm starting to think 'this looks like a coffee cup of chai latte tea.' So that's where I went with it. I didn't use much of my background, just the strips at the top and bottom and the 'brew'. I made a simple DOx background just with the clover, stamped my coffee cups in the Distress espresso, fussy cut them, then used my background to restamp the cups, fussy cut out the two that showed some of the brew and added some copper metallic wc paint to the cups and strips. Stamped some tea rings in the espresso and rusty hinge, sentiment in espresso and used the kraft dotted dp that I've had forever, just scraps left. I didn't think I was going to be crazy about this, although these colors didn't make my lips freeze, but I had a lot of fun making it. BTW, I'm whispering, 'we're all crazy!!!!!!'

I'm thinking the inside sentiment must say "and they will come". I love , love these colors and the BG you cut strips from to do this. Hope you will use the rest of it on another card because it looks like it would be gorgeous!

Terrific ideas. Creative thinking to take your inspiration from the Irish flag. Wonderful take on the sketch. I like the different coffee cups. Well done.

I love it when colors or shapes speak their mind, leading us down the unknown artful path to the known. Great sentiment with your eclectic set of cups.

I'll have an Irish coffee please! Except whiskey is one drink missing in this house...I like the rings, and love the bird of bubbly white showing in the background strips.

This is just plain fun - as I sit here perusing the gallery and sipping on my warmed up cold-brew coffee. The polka dots, rusty elements and coffee rings add a personality as do the kelly green coffee cups. I'm so glad you could play along with all of these challenges!

What fun! The cups of various libations are so inviting, love the way you used this week's colors, and especially love the coffee rings on the white background!
