Whenever I think of cherry blossoms, I think of two things: Washington DC and the song 'Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White.' For some reason, as a very young child, I had a 45 of that song and listened to it all the time. I know, I was weird.
Most of the time, I photograph my cards in the same place. On the left, behind the card, is a drawing my Dad did in 1953. I think he'd be proud that I'm working on my art. I had a lot of fun painting these blossoms, feeling competent and confident. I also painted some extras, fussy cut them out for today's WT and popped them up. Added a little metallic wc to those and some rose gold Liquid Pearls, which are my favorite embellishment these days. This will probably be an April birthday card for a good friend. Someday I'll see those Washington DC cherry blossoms.

So very pretty- love that you have popped up a couple of the flowers! Beautifully done- love your story- do not know the song, but going to go look it up!
Ok, so you have me listening to Pat Boone's version of the song! I watched it on Youtube and it showed family photos in black and white with his young family among other headshots. That was fun! Thank you for steering me there for a moment. Your card is gorgeous! Your cherry blossoms are beautiful and I like the way they cover your card. Popping a couple up was a lovely idea! I saw your comment on my card and I am sending you a virtual hug. So sorry that your mom is gone. I don't get to see mine very often but we took a trip to see her last January and celebrated her 79th birthday. She kept saying that I should have waited until her 80th and I told her "no, I feel it needs to be THIS year!" I am so glad I listened to my instinct and didn't wait. I am certainly not traveling across the country THIS year!

Beautiful cherry blossom card with the added popped up blossoms! So cool that you're following in your dad's footsteps! You'll have to put his drawing in your gallery! 53 was a good year...the year I was born. LOL

bfnm...your words are just icing on the cherry blossom cake! Feeling competent and confident. You should. Love the surrounding scene. That drawing of your Dad’s is the wonderful backdrop of many of your cards. I always admire the detail. And of course, love the beautiful covers of P&P. Goes perfectly with your art. Love watching your art journey from your he{art}!
