Congrats to DebbieinOC! When I saw Debbie's card: CAS582 This Old Chair by DebbieinOC at Splitcoaststampers I did a companion piece, using another chair stamp by the same company and similar colors. I was going to try for her watercolor technique, too, but realized the image needed to be more balanced with no hard edges, so I went with letting a splatter stamp do the work for me. I spritzed both stamps with water before stamping on CS. Right after I inked the splat stamp with Oxide, I knew I should have used regular Distress for more transparency but I didn't want to waste the ink and wipe it off. Sure enough, the sentiment was hard to read. I did my best to go over the letters with teeny dots from a micron fine tipped pen. I chose to add a long sentiment rather than a short one, adding a score line beneath and rounded two corners before mounting on a deep teal card.

We are mirroring each other today, neighbor! I love the color saturation you achieved and that splat is perfectly placed. Your sentiment is a nice balance for those OR duck colors. Way to go rescuing the sentiment as you watch it slowly fade into the cotton rag...ask me how I know! Great case.

I adore this card Lori. Love the bright greens of the bench and the bright yellow that looks like a burst of sunshine beaming down on that inviting bench. I think I could sit there for a long time enjoying the view. I am trying to imagine how it would look with the distress ink and I think I like the bright opaque of the DO, so I wouldn't change a thing because you did a great save on the sentiment. It's a beautiful thought and perfect for that idyllic setting you created. Wonderful card.

Love your case as I love the card it's based on. I tried to find that chair but it seems that the company is no longer around. Like your bright colors!
