Lucky me - I received a wonderful package with all the supplies to start foiling for Christmas - thank you so much, M. I kind of jumped in to try out without planning, so both this piece with transfer gel, and a die-cut using the toner sheets sat for a while while I pondered what do do with them. The white border looks a bit off in the photo here, in real life it's a closer match but it's been a lousy weekend...
In the end, I trimmed the sheet down to the size of the stencil, and added a lace die-cut border along one edge. The black base is about 1/8" wider all round, and is scored 1/8" in along the folder edge. I added the little birthday sentiment (which, as DH pointed out, is a little crooked), and two sparkly butterflies with matching gems (die is X-cut). I'll probably send this to the daughter of one of the women in work who has a birthday next week. Now that she's officially a teenager she's probably less into cute...but I'll ask her mum in case I have time to make something dedicated to her.

I think since butterfly movements are fluttery that not perfectly straight is a good thing. and The glimmers and shimmers this has are just so pretty Sabrina. (I bet if you flashed this at her mama she will be so tickled you did this for her dd)

Wow, this is stunning, Sabrina. It must be amazing in real life if it looks this good in a photo. That die cut edge is just perfect with the lovely flowers and butterflies.

I agree with Julie...this is striking. Brenda has foiling down to a science...I feel all bumble thumbs! But as with anything, a bit of practice or even just reading the direction can set the right direction!

Since I know that foil paper I know how much that radiates light back. I love the choice to use it with flowers and the black paper. And the butterflies hold their own. Great first card!
