This is hand-stitched card #31 of approximately 50 hand-stitched cards that I created in an 18-month period, 44 of these I gave as a special gift to my Mom, who is a very talented cross-stitch artist. She was thrilled with this giant box full of A2 and A7 hand-stitched cards for a variety of occasions. I made mainly birthday, praying for you (which, to me covers a multitude of situations and reasons why one would send out a card to support a loved one), get well, congratulations, and one baby card which happens to be my favorite of them all! I have let my Mom know that I will be happy to make more of these cards for whatever occasion she wants, as I want her to just use these cards and to enjoy giving them out to her friends and family. It's a pleasure to make them for her!!!
This is one of the Get Well cards, made with a beautiful Anna Griffin sentiment die, and I deliberately made some of these cards more for crafters, and on others, I left the embellishments as more general so that Mom could give these cards to any friend, although many of her friends are crafters like she is.
I'd call this background a sampler of sorts, as I used a variety of stitches, and put colors together that I thought would work well, then I found cardstock later that would work for each hand-stitched piece, which wasn't so easy, but I am limited in colors for the embroidery yarn I use, so I worked in this way. I think that it would be easier perhaps to match up the cardstock when working on each hand-stitched piece, maybe next time. I would really like to make a large set of hand-stitched cards to have on hand for myself to send out to special friends and family. These are the kind of cards that you hope that someone won't just throw away, that someone would keep at least for some time... I made a few lately for Christmas, and I made one as a birthday card for my nephew's 18th birthday. But I also like to make cards without stitching, lately however, I seem to be on a hand-stitching craze, for the lack of a better way of describing it.
These hand-stitched cards are all due to the genius and generosity of Jennifer McGuire, who introduced me to a Paper Smooches hand-stitching die (now there are many on the market, I still use the Paper Smooches die but it's no longer available as the company is not in business), and she also introduced me to the art of hand-stitching, and I am extremely grateful. I hope that she will do some videos on how to create beautiful geometric patterns on these hand-stitching die-cuts, and I need to spend more time working on creating new patterns for my cards.
Thank you for taking a closer look at this hand-stitched card. Please know that when you leave a comment that you absolutely make my day! It's because of my own excitement seeing a comment left for one of my card photos that has made me take more care in leaving encouraging comments when I go onto the SCS gallery, for I want everyone to have that same encouragement.
Please stay safe and healthy during this very unusual and difficult time. I'm so thankful for Splitcoaststampers and for the many great artists who teach me and inspire me and encourage me, and I hope that I can encourage others with my comments--I say what I truly think and I hope that my comments encourage.
Best wishes to each of you,
Joanne

Beautiful work Joanne and such fun colors. I can see where the stitching may be relaxing just like crocheting or knitting. The cute little die cuts add fun embossed texture. Hearts and buttons are always fun. Stay safe yourself and momma as well.
