This card was made for a chemotherapy patient with whom I'm partnered to send cards to cheer her up each week. If you are interested, please visit http://chemoangels.com.
I was inspired by a card challenge that required that participants make a slimline card and use a sketch with 3 items on the front. I thought these Stampin' Up! (SU) wild critters with their happy faces would work perfectly. The critters were stamped, then die cut first.
I have had a pack of Hampton Arts Mini Spring Wobbles for over a year and haven't' used them, so thought popping these little guys on wobbles would be perfect to bring a smile to her face.
I cut slits in the SU cloud Designer Series Paper (DSP) to slide the top of the wobbles through (cut down the size of the wobbles to fit better through the slit, and so they would fit behind each critter without showing. Then attached each critter (the top of the wobble is sticky tape covered with a release paper that you pull off). I then removed the release paper from the bottom of each wobble, applied glue to the back of the cloud paper, and attached to the black mat layer. with the base of the wobbles sandwiched between the cloud layer and the black layer.
I was so enamored with the Wobbles, that I forgot to stamp the sentiment on the card until after I had the three critters attached. I ALWAYS stamp my black sentiments multiple times using my SU stamp positioner (Stamparatus) to get nice solid words. With the Wobbles, they compress so nicely (to fit in envelopes) that I easily used the stamp positioner to get my multiple stamping done.
I am rating the difficulty of this card as a "3" out of a possible "5". I did this mainly because of the need to fit the Wobbles to my critters and through narrow slits in the cloud paper. But they were oh so worth it!!! I know my chemo patient will love the card!!!
