This card was easy, but it took a lot of thought and planning because the sketch was difficult for me. Small layers really challenge me. I also wanted to include today's WT-fruit.
I did an ink blended background using a Lavinia leaf stencil. I chose Distress and DOx inks that had some 'fruity' names. I embossed the larger pear in a lemon ep and stamped the smaller one in twisted citron. There is a third pear, have misplaced it. I used an embossed vellum for the strips because I wanted the background to show through. Lastly stamped the sentiment, cut it apart and then added the old shell button, thread and pin in place of the heart. I suppose the sentiment encourages us to 'work hard for the fruit.' Hard work isn't always enough.

Love that sentiment! Meant to be encouraging I imagine. I keep envisioning falling out of the tree, ha, ha! Pears are one of my favourite tree fruits. Your fruity coloured background really looks great behind them!

I didn't pay any attention to the sketch in this card until I read that it was for two challenges. The fruit and BG and button/Pin all look so nice together I wasn't even noticing the sketch! I think that is actually how it should be; everything just works together! Love that sentiment!

I always loved seeing your cards and this is no exception. You are an “out of the box” stamper. Your imagination has no end. What a unique and eye catching card.

Such s beautiful background, and the embossed vellum is lovely with it, always a look I like. Lovely pear stamps, I hope you find the missing one. Love the hatpin.
