This thank you card was made for a friend using a sketch card challenge. The optional part of the challenge was to use dies for the card. I turned the sketch clockwise 90 degrees.
The challenge sketch had a circle in it, so I chose the globe stamp from Stampin' Up! (SU) "Beautiful World" set, which also has a great sentiment to thank my sweet friend. I stamped the globe with Versamark, then dusted with detail gold embossing powder on a piece of navy cardstock, then used a stitched circle from SU "Stitched Shapes" to die cut it out. To create the gold circle around it, I used the same stitched circle, along with the next size smaller circle to cut gold cardstock. Then glued the gold circle on top of the blue die cut globe piece.
I chose the gridded background for the card front because it made me think of longitude/latitude lines on a map. This piece is a laser cut from SU's "Forever Gold" specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP).
The scalloped gold border on the left was created with an edging die. Finally, the sentiment was stamped in Versamark onto white cardstock, and dusted with gold and heat set.
After finishing the card, I'm thinking it would have been better if I'd cut the sentiment piece a little closer to the sentiment at the top, but I'm sure my friend will like it. I'm rating the difficulty level for this card as a "2" out of a possible "5".
