Hi Everyone!
I have been absent for this month's tutorials, getting ready for Christmas, but I saw SO MANY WONDERFUL TUTORIALS! I will HAVE TO catch up!!! ;)
First of all, THANK YOU to Linda (Holstein) for asking me to "guest post" for this week! Such an HONOR!
For the WCW Challenge this week, I had my card already before Linda asked me to do this. It was our Anniversary card for back in October! I thought with all of the tutorials we've been doing, we could add some more techniques for doing landscape painting. So, I chose to focus on the rocks, doing them with the Mottling Technique. I found a Mottling Technique tutorial by Lydia here:
Instead of adding color to color, add water to the color you've laid down, to get the mottled look for your rocks! It gives such a NICE textured look!
For a BONUS: You can try the sponged trees. Use any sponge you can find, clean of course. LOL I used an O'Cello Sponge- Damped it, wrung it out, & ripped it with my fingers to get a triangled shaped & then, used them to paint with.
HOPE you enjoy & I CAN'T WAIT to see what you create!
Additional Supplies used:
Brushes- Silver Blk. Velvet- #12, #2, 3/4" Flat, Daler & Rowney Liner-3/0, Art Color #8, Bore Bristle Flat, Delta #00, Dugat #3.

Your rocks look amazing! I mottled with water on the first card I uploaded for the challenge. It makes a stunning background and stunning rocks! Your scene is so striking! Thanks so much for Guesting this week!

Beautifully done card with a magical scene. Your rocks inspired me. Love the emerald shade of green that you used with them for this woodland/stream scene. (Thanks for the edit)
