I watched a video by Lisa Curcio where she made a winter card using trees, embossing paste, and this embossing folder. I didn't own the trees she used, but pulled out a Gina K Designs set, Merry and Bright, which have these wonderful bare branch trees. After stamping, I applied embossing paste by Faber Castelle. This particular paste has beads in it and is fairly clear, so it shows the color underneath. I looks like snow when dry. I applied it for ground and to the top of the trees. I cut an oval from another piece of cardstock then embossed it using the Woodland Embossing folder. I chose not to add a greeting, so it can be used for any occasion I might need it for in the winter.
This was created for the Challenge Your Stash December theme which is using a tree.
The Clean and Simple challenge is to use a tree. There is a lot of white space on this card and it is fairly simple, so I am adding it to that challenge as well.
The MIX challenge is all about adding texture. This card has a lot of texture with the embossing paste and the embossed front, so I am adding to that challenge. This is the first time I have added cards to the MIX challenge.
I enjoyed creating this card. Thanks for taking the time to read this long description.

Beautiful winter scene! I loved reading your write up. It really explained your process which inspires the reader ...at least it is inspiring me! :-) Your card has a Lord of the Rings vibe to it!

Your beaded texture paste does work well for snow! I love your scene and especially how you framed it with an embossed trees panel. Thanks for playing in the MIX!

Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing your process. I have all those supplies and am going to try your technique and hope mine comes out half as pretty as yours!
