I got the "Peaceful Dove" stamp set & coordinating dies for Christmas last year, and had yet to use them. I decided to pull them out finally. My card design came from an old Operation Write Home sketch.
The stamp set is a bit of a layering set & a bit of a building set. I googled images of doves, & came up with a color palette of cool & warm greys. I stamped each part, and die cut with the coordinating die. The bird itself is a bit tricky to figure out, but fortunately, I have a stamping guide from WPlus9 to refer to. I also stamped & die cut the leaves, to give the bird something to nestle among.
I cut my mats & layers to size, & assembled the base of my card front. I stamped the letters to spell "joy" in red ink, & punched them out with a 1/2" circle punch. I die cut a circle, and added a stamped & die cut flower to the middle of that. I used 3 banners from an old Bo Bunny die cut pack to go under the circle. I glued my bird/leaves down first, so I wouldn't position the banners over them. I glued my letters down on the opposite side from the sketch, as I felt it provided a better balance. I adhered just the tops of the banners, so they lifted up a bit below the circle, & adhered the circle over the tops. Finally, I adhered my card front to a white card base.
