I found a card on Pinterest using a technique that combined ink smooshing + stamping with Distress Oxides. I thought it looked cool, so I created this card, inspired by that one.
I cut a panel of watercolor paper to 5-1/4x4". I pressed my Distress Oxide inks on my non-stick craft mat, one color at a time. (I cleaned the mat between colors, just to make things easier on myself.) I spritzed the ink with a bit of water, picked it up with a scrap of a clear plastic page protector, & applied it to my panel. I discovered that, if you want more vibrant color that doesn't spread too much, use no more than a light spritz or 2 of water. I repeated this process with the different colors, leaving the center more-or-less plain, so my greeting would stand out.
After I dried the inked panel, I used Peacock Feathers & Picked Raspberry Oxide inks to stamp my snowflakes. To help them blend somewhat into the ink smooshing, I spritzed some with a bit of water after stamping, and I stamped others on when the paper was damp. A few I stamped without using any water, for a slightly more defined look. Then I set my panel aside to dry again.
I die cut the greeting from green shimmer cardstock & a few times from white cardstock. To help me position the words properly on my panel, I taped my die in place on the panel, & ran it through my machine with very little pressure, so I had just an impression. To ensure I kept the tittle & apostrophe from each layer, after I die cut the word each time, I carefully poked each of those out into a small box. I glued the first white die cut on top of the impression in my panel, and then stacked the rest on that, finishing with the green shimmer layer. I carefully glued on the tittles & apostrophes, matted the panel, and adhered it to a white card base.
