I love the teapot Jacqueline shared for this week's Teapot Tuesday challenge. I pulled out some bright colours and more or less did wrinkle-free distress on glossy photo paper. It had taken me a lot of experimentation to find one which would let me wipe the oxidation off and reveal the bright colours, but in the end I got there. I embossed it with a stencil, and then I didn't want to cover all the texture up so instead of a doily, I cut the centre out and made it more like a wreath. I added flowers and a leaf and perched the butterfly (stamped on vellum and embossed with gold, SN clear glitter pen for sparkle) in the centre. Wondered about a sentiment and added a hug. If Louie's funeral was anything like my MIL's a couple of weeks ago, there would have been no hugging. That's so hard at a time of loss and mourning.
I had already made a couple of side-fold cards, but to join in Lyn's TLC from Monday, I used it for this one. Instead of ribbon, twine or cording, I scored two lines along each edge of the side panel, and added a decorative border down the centre. As it's just cut from light DP, I was able to fold it over the top and bottom and the ends are hidden inside the glued fold. I used the same DP to cut the four art deco corners.
Lyn's challenge, and a link to the side-fold tutorial, can be found HERE.

Sabrina you have a little bit of everything on this and it comes together beautifully. That border on the fold part looks so cool and of course you tied it into the main part by the corners. Theresa being a card maker will appreciate all the wonderful details on this.

I love the embossing on the bg. Glad you decided to make the wreath instead of the doily so it stands out, Beautiful card. I agree with Polly, a cardmaker like Therese will love all the details you added. Super card.

I used to do side fold cards all the time but it's been forever since I did one of those. Love how you really enhanced the hinge side with that die cut column paired with the textured lines. The lacy floral wreath looks great against the bg and the fun die cut flowers really dress it up.

Your colors are bright and cheery and I love your hugs sentiment for Theresa. Doing the side fold adds so much interest to this. It is great that Theresa being a cardmaker herself, will be very comforted by this beauty.

Your perseverance paid off Sabrina - the background looks lovely and does resemble the teapot. So sorry to learn about your MIL :-( 2020 is sucking more and more.
