Another, and last, non-Christmas card for Cathy's WTUI challenge. I've been wanting to use this little chick. The background was originally planned to use one green umbrella sitting on my desk - but it was heavy card and I didn't know how well it would emboss into the background. So I cut more from paper.
Background was just mopping up the leftover inks from the Wrinkle Free background I made for my MIX card. I arranged the background umbrellas, stuck them on and embossed the piece with SU's Subtle ef. The top umbrella is layered on some cereal box for extra strength. The little chick was stamped on white card and coloured with Polychromos pencils. While cutting the silver handle for the top umbrella from glitter paper I also cut a few raindrops and added them. The panel is edged with Stickles, and very nicely, the Penny Black sentiment was a good fit with the arc of the die-cut umbrellas.

Love the colorful umbrellas and especially love the affect of the embossing folder. It looks like rain pouting onto that cute duck. That sentiment really did fit the arc perfectly and it is also the perfect sentiment for the layout. Fun card for the Spring. Oh my gosh...that's just around the corner!
