This is the close-up view to show the hand-stitching in more detail of card #23 of approximately 50 hand-stitched cards. Most of the 50, 44 to be exact were given in a large set to my Mom, who is a very talented cross-stitcher, and I had been searching for years to find a way of incorporating actual hand-stitching onto cards for her. It was Jennifer McGuire who introduced me to the first of several specialized hand-stitching dies, and the first I used is by Paper Smooches, a company that is no longer in operation, but there are a number of other companies who make hand-stitching dies in different sizes and specifications.
This card was not part of my Mom's set, I gave this card to the son of some good friends who is taking care of his elderly Mom so kindly and with such love and faithfulness, and I wanted to express my gratitude and my appreciation to him. So, when I sent a hand-stitched card to his Mom (just uploaded), I sent him a card and the same gift-card to say thank you in a very small way. There are few sons who would dedicate their lives to taking care of their elderly Mom as this man has done, and I think that he is exceptional!!!
I tried to choose a card that wasn't too frilly, and so I chose this one using the same stitch throughout and in bright colors. I hope that he liked it...
Thank you for taking a closer look at my card. When you leave a comment on one of my cards or on another artist's card, know that you are leaving encouragement and that it's very appreciated.
Take good care and do be safe and healthy in this very unusual time. It's a great time to devote to our crafts, as it's a healthy activity and it allows us to create something we can send out and provide joy to others.
