Surprisingly, I'm not nearly as messy this week as I was from the masking tape plaid. I was worried that I was going to have to skip this because I don't have any Gesso. It was on my list at one point, and it was certainly a staple in high school art classs, but I haven't gotten around to buying it. So I cheated my way through the technique today with the supplies I have. I still put it in the gallery because I followed the instructions and used the closest supplies I have. First I stamped a background of snowflakes directly on the cardstock. Then I painted over the snowflakes with Caribbean blue acrylic paint and some glittery blue acrylic paint. I applied white acrylic paint randomly with my finger instead of a foam brush. I also don't have metallic finish whatever that is. Maybe I should get some. It looks fun. I kind of rubbed silver alcohol ink mixative around my background. Lastly, I applied Nuvo glimmer paste through my stencil. I should get some modeling paste, but everything is better with glitter. I had so much fun coloring up this adorable stamp that I've had for a couple years and just haven't gotten around to using. Finished off with some Wink of Stella and Stickles for every more shimmer and shine!

Favourited. It's beautiful. The base stamped snowflakes look great peeking out from under the paint. The sparkle is fab.
My first tub of gesso last forever, now I seem to o through it much faster.
