For this card I was inspired by the ice skates hanging in the tree. I have had this Sizzix Skates die for over 2 years and never used it - so today I was inspired to get it out.
I embossed a white panel with a Wood Plank Embossing folder then used a blender brush to age it using Walnut Stain Distress Ink. I layered the greenery and added gold ball ornaments (which are actually a holly berry die!)
I laced the skate through the holes made by the die using a needle and peppermint twine. I colored the sole and heal with a black Copic and silver embossed the blade.
I was so happy to finally get this die out and use it! It's a little off scale for the 'tree' so I only used one skate instead of two!
See my first inspired card using a pinecone next to this one in my gallery.

LOVE this skate, Julia. So pretty with the twine and details. The greenery, gold, and background are perfect too. You did a fab job on this - I love it! Hugz
