What a wonderful choice for Featured Stamper this week, Nancy! Melissa (javagirl894) and I share a deep love for the now gone Basic Grey. I had a wonderful time, Melissa, going through your gallery trying to decide which card to case and which Basic Grey I was going to use. So many fun things. Of course, I ended up faving several for the future! This card is gorgeous. It's the one.
I am also entering my card in the Inspiration Challenge this week. Amy (Kalla Walla) brought us Traditions, a family owned business that specializes in collections of ornaments and home decor. It was when I saw this butterfly, I knew I was ready to bring this to the galleries! Melissa, your butterfly is just lovely. I used a scrap of Brusho background to cut my butterfly with TH die. I changed the layout slightly. I did use Basic Grey papers, but could not find the exact one you used.
The posies paper was fussy cut to let the flowers stand alone. I used a Paper Studio Embossing Folder on the Basic Grey DP which has a very '60's vive. I love the contrast between bold print and the geometric embossing folder pattern.
The quote was embossed with two colors. I wanted dreams to be my focal so I used the Ranger Mixed Media Embossing Powder in 'Punch'. The Butterfly is ready to spread both of those wings and fly.
Thanks for looking. Melissa, have a fun week watching all the gallery entries into YOUR FS gallery!

I thought I saw some of our beloved Basic Grey dp on this beautiful card. The embossing is awesome and wow your fussy cutting of those flowers so skillful! Hope you had a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving, my sweet friend.

Love how you did the sentiment, Susan. Lovely texture and colors on the layers. I miss Basic Grey as well. Very thoughtful and sweet card/case. Hugz

Wow! Stunning. And yes, I miss Basic Gray. They were one of my favorite companies. So sad that they are gone. Of course I still have a few pieces stashed away. I'm honored that you used some of their papers on a card inspired by my gallery.

I'm listening to one of my favorite Christmas songs, looking at your card and am in tears, which is not a bad thing. So much beauty going into my ears and heart.
