This is for Teapot Tuesday and will be going out to a fellow teapotter. What a challenge this was but once I got going I found it to be quite a lot of fun. I must say that zentangle or any form of doodling is quite intimidating for me. Maybe it is my strict family background where rules and colouring inside the lines were taken seriously but this was well outside my comfort zone. I probably need a lot of counselling to find the inner spontaneity of free flowing penmanship. I almost cheated by finding small stamps to stamp in masked off areas. But the rule keeping part of me kicked in and I leaned into the discomfort to doodle. I used a gel pen for my doodles which stayed quite wet allowing me to emboss (my very favorite thing) and that was fun. I believe I'll take a cookie for the holiday card I made. Enjoy!

LOL on the counselling, I would be the same. Even in school I didn't really doodle much. Cool that your pen stayed wet long enough for you to emboss, lucky that it didn't smudge!! You certainly get extra cookies for a holiday card.

I can relate to all levels of your angst while making this card - from being far outside my comfort zone to wanting to take an easy way out but not giving in to that since we were taught NOT to break the rules. I'm glad you prevailed with this saucy snowman - enjoy your well deserved cookie.

How about a dozen cookies! This snowman is great! I love all the different designs you used and then embossing, too, what a terrific finished project. I truly didn't intend to make people uncomfortable and I think my enthusiasm got me off track. Thanks for trusting the process and being a good sport about trying something new.

Such a fantastic Zen Snowman! It is definitely a challenge to try something new, but so satisfying when you finally step out of your comfort zone and try it.

Doesn't zentangling do something fun in your brain, and I find it so relaxing.

I love it! Great patterns in your cute snowman! It's so fun to browse this gallery and see everyone's reaction to zentangle--you either love it or you were scared to death! But we all powered through and made some fun cards!
