I was a bit stumped with this one. I don't have many food type stamps and, in searching the internet, didn't find anything that quite suited me. So, when all else fails, I go through my stash. Remember when Anita did the veggie printing for a TLC?! I really liked people's onion prints so I bought an onion and printed some a while back. I like red onions so I chose some kind of red/purple ink.
I used deli paper, thought that would be appropriate and used some 'cheese' colors. I'm a WI girl, you'd think I'd have a cheese stamp. One of the stencils I used has lines, sort of a mesh pattern. I searched for onion quotations and found this one, which I really like. There are a lot of onions in deli food, although I doubt that the workers are dicing onions; they probably buy them already chopped.
A word about the quote: Ljupka Cvetanova is a Macedonian aphorist who has published widely in print and and online satirical magazines in the Balkans. Aphorisms are short, pithy, to the point sayings, like 'if it's ain't broke, don't fix it.'

So fun to use something you made! Love your stories about the deli and the quote.

Yes yes yes! Sometimes I like to put out tough challenges that make people get creative, because I love it when Splitcoasties get creative. This is amazing! Your stamped onion is phenomenal. Such a fun quote. And you used deli paper because you are brilliant! All it needed was some cheesecloth--something you must have in Wisconsin, am I right?
