This 5"x7" holiday card was made for a sketch challenge that had 4 circular elements in it. The card base is thick white cardstock to give it stability. The background is a poinsettia paper from a retired Stampin' UP! (SU) Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP() called "Joyous Noel". The green foiled horizontal band is from the same DSP set.
The white poinsettia flowers were created using the SU "Poinsettia Petals" matching cutting/embossing dies called "Poinsettia". The three sizes of flowers were all created by die cutting and embossing thick vellum cardstock at the same time on a rubber embossing pad. Because I was using vellum, the die cut out the outline. If I had chosen to make the petals out of regular cardstock, I would have had to emboss with the dies on the rubber embossing pad, then move the embossed paper over onto a regular cutting plate to cut out the flower outline.
The gold sprig under the largest flower and the flower centers were cut using dies from the same set from a piece of gold cardstock.
All flower assembly was done using mini glue dots to allow the petals to open into their 3D form.
I am rating the difficulty level of this card as a "2" out of a possible "5" since the dies do all the work for you by embossing the petal veins and cutting out the shapes.
