I must say, this wasn't an easy look to pull together. But then, that's why they call it a challenge, right?
I stamped my crystals onto my black panel, which I'd cut to 4-1/8x5-3/8", with Versamark ink. After masking around the images, I used finger sponge daubers to apply Oxide inks. I began by using a circular motion, as you typically do to ink blend. But the ink was just kind of smearing & streaking around on the cardstock, so I ended up just daubing the ink on in a pouncing motion. Then I set that aside (for a looooong time!) to dry.
After the ink had dried, I heat embossed the crystals with silver powder. I also heat embossed the greeting. I chose that particular greeting because I liked the way it nestled right into the bottom crystal. I used a silver paint pen & my T-square ruler to draw the hanging lines, and added a bow where each line met its crystal. Because the crystals ended up not perfectly centered, I trimmed another 1/8" from the right side & bottom of the panel. That made it 4x5-1/4", which gave me the opportunity for a double mat. So I matted the black with a light teal, and adhered that to a darker teal panel that I'd mounted to my card base.
