This week's Tea Party recipient, Bill, loves books and we were challenged to make a card reflecting a favorite book. I don't have a favorite book per se, so I went with a book genre: Adventure.
For this card, I ink blended DO onto white cardstock then heat embossed the images in black. It reminds me of an African sunset. I also ink blended a scrap with just the lemonade and honey DOs and stamped the sentiment and travel images from the TT set, heat embossed them and then fussy cut. Glued it all down and voila, it's an adventure card.
I love that books can transport us to so many different places and times and adventures. And, I think the crux of any great story is an adventure of some sort. I hope you are transported today and enjoying your adventure whatever that may be. And, I hope Bill is able to find comfort and joy and some entertainment with his beloved books. TFL.

Beautiful DO bg for your African sunset. I'm with you on books taking you to so many places...it's amazing what you can experience just by picking up a book. I'm sure he'll love this.

This is such a good idea .... creating a card to encourage Bill's adventurous spirit! I'll bet he's a fan of adventure books and will love your beautiful card.

Beautiful! YOU transported me. I am inspired to try ink blending more often. Beautiful message, too. Even when one is laid up, adventures can be had and smiles can be formed. And thanks for your sweet comments in my gallery, too.

Stunning! Because I sit all my waking hours, I appreciate a good book. This is great book cover! Love the techniques. Inking the sunset steals the show and the embossing on the silhouette is fantastic! Awesome!!!

What fantastic sponging. I think that is where the DOX inks really come into their own. An African sunrise or sunset, yes, but those colours are also perfect for Australia on the ticket. And I like the plane and compass. I had to ask my Spanish line manager what the icon for Safari was when we got iPads to use in work. She didn't know what a compass was in English, but when she says the thing that points North to tell you where you are going, I got it.

Gorgeous sunset sponging, Debbie. Love all the interesting details going across the bottom. Bill will see this and will be away in his mind on an adventure, I am sure!

This is very heart warming card. Amazed that you started with white cardstock and sponged this beautiful background. Enjoyed reading your deets and hopefully Bill will have good thoughts seeing it. TFS

I agree with your comments about books and love the colors and adventure theme on this, Debbie. A great card. I haven't done my card yet because I can't decide on my favorite book and how do to it.... Great for you moving ahead - I may also go with a theme as well. Hugz
