I fell in love with the embossing folder and immediately purchased it. I inked up several pieces of cardstock with the DO combo listed above and embossed each of them. And then they sat there; on my work table; staring at me; mocking me. I just couldn't figure out an image that I thought would work and I can't draw like Nancy. Today, in a moment of pique, I grabbed a couple and ran them through the die machine. And, I'm glad I did. I think this makes a great masculine bday card and I will be doing this again in the future. Die cutting after embossing does flatten the embossed image, but you can stlll see the pattern. It almost looks like it was stenciled. In the future, I might try die cutting first then embossing, but there are so many small hanging pieces in the cut outs I think it might get distorted. An experiment for the future.
So, I hope you find some long forgotten bg and just cut the heck out of it with your dies. Who knows -- you might like. And I can assure you, it's very satisfying. Take that background!
