This card was made for a challenge that required both a sketch and a non-traditional Christmas card.
For the three panels I chose three different shades of aqua. They are cut 5-1/4" long by 1-3/4", 1-1/4", and 3/4". I used the 1997 Stampin' Up! (SU) background stamp called "Lavish Lace" and temporarily taped the three strips together on the back with tape, then stamped them all three at once with Versamark ink. I then separated them and dusted each with clear embossing powder, then heat set each.
I wanted the three strips to stand up above the card surface, so cut three more of each color the same size as the stamped strips, and glued them stacked. This creates a nice shadowed effect on the finished card.
For the center piece, I chose to stamp the leafs from the 2000 SU "Autumn" stamp set using Versamark onto heavy vellum. I then dusted each with gold embossing powder and heat set. I then fussy cut the two leaves out using paper snips.
The banner was created by gluing three 1/4" strips from the same three aqua cardstock, then using my new SU "Pick-A-Banner" punch to create the banner end.... how I love that new punch that creates two different types of banners in 3 different widths!!!
The sentiment was created by using Spellbinders alphabet dies to cut the letters from the same cardstock as used for the card base.
The three aqua strips were glued to the card base, the leaves and the banner were attached with Scor-Tape.
I think this is a VERY non-traditional holiday card! I am rating the difficulty level for this card as a "2" out of a possible "5". The hardest part is coming up with the measurements, but since I've already provided those, the card should come together easily for you.
