I am once again late to the TeaPot party...but I've been fiddling on it all week! Until it seemed just right. And in the doing I was true to my sentiment.
Our Teapot Swap this month hostess is Judy (JRHolbrook), bringing us an opportunity to create art on how we feel about this year. There are cookies to be had if we use 'eyes' on our work. YES, please! I tried to include some of my favorite things. I've got the big cup (Carmen's Veranda) stamped on 'Life in Color' dp and embossed. The delicate proper teacup was stamped with Lucy's EYES and colored with Chalk Box inks. I used Glossy Accents over the eyes. The 'I Love' heart is snuggled into the cup. Lucy's lips were stamped onto the big coffee cup.
The dp with the hanging phone repeat reminded me of how important it is to stay connected to those that make our heart sing AND to be that connection to others. I need to hear laughing at the other end, how about you? And snuggled behind the cups is piece of a very COOL stenciled bg that Jean gifted me. I love it so much, I HAD to have the stencil at my house! Along the left side, I added the 'Be True to You' using Lumaire 'Silks' metallic paint.
Untie the plaid ribbon and someone will find a secret message...
This card fits Polly's MIX405 Thanks for the Compliment...what's opposite the color wheel for you? With my big orange cup, I chose to use pale Robin's egg blue accents. Thank you Polly for nudging me to really consider what's the compliment...
And what a lovely Blog to be inspired by, Kia. I was inspired by Get a Tea Drawer. I love the idea of a dedicated space to craft your warm beverages. A comforting ritual to the day.
It seems it is even more important in these times to nurture yourself. We all give out so much to our loved ones...we must seize opportunities to fill ourselves up. And for that, I am thankful for my family and friends, for the silly texts and gifs and emojis, links to podcasts, belly laughs in a phone call, and spur of the moment order out brunches and stolen hugs...I wish that for you too....
Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts!

What a fun card you have created. I think those look just like Lucy's eyes with those eyelashes. I wonder what she sees that makes those eyes so huge. Is that her ear? Ha Cute, cute creation.

Well, I can see Lucy in your Love design! what a great layering of die cuts and wonderful mix of colors! Totally agree with your story - how we all need to take care of each other as well as ourselves!

A real "Susan" card. The eyes on that fine bone china cup are fantastic. And so is the texture in the earthenware looking one - except that it has a handle, it reminds me of a little Vietnamese restaurant in Paris. The telephone is a great reminder to stay in touch. How fun that you have a hidden message tied with that GORGEOUS ribbon.

My eyes went to that ribbon right away and how fun that you have a hidden message when some lucky someone unties it. Love the little hearted up tag you attached. Great card with the Lucy theme!

You've emerged from your summer art cocoon! And this amazing artistic metamorphosis is the result! I love every little , wonderful detail..the cup within a cup, the Lucy face, the LIPS, and that fab telephone line stenciled bg. The bit of blue on the teabag is perfect in contrast to the orange. WOW...if the Favorites thread were back I would list this 10x!
