Woot woot, it's Jayne's debut as a hostess on the WTUI team. Check out her challenge HERE.
I made one card using a suggested tutorial, and then I used one of her alternative suggestions. I have had Lift Ink sitting on my desk for two years now. I have made one card which I sent from work without taking a photo...that wasn't great, and every other attempt has ended in my wiping the Yupo off or adding more ink and using it for something else. So I was determined, by hook or by crook, to achieve something with it for Jayne's challenge.
The card on the left is my alcohol inks on Yupo piece. I edged it with a gold leafing pen, backed it with some fun foam for dimension and to make sure it didn't pick up an impression from the embossed layer underneath. That was some carefully chosen BoBunny DP with leaves on it, but by the time I'd embossed it, buffed all round the edges with a dark brown Gelato and some Craft-T rub-ons, and added aged teal chunky EP, I don't think you can see any of the pattern at all! The ef is Spellbinders.
I added some gold mesh ribbon, and some little sparkly enamel dots for a pop of colour, and an SU sentiment.
For the other card, I used a failed piece from the ghosting tutorial. Never had that problem before...I let the Versamark dry overnight, but I think the problem was that I let the distress inks dry too much while I got on with the housework. Didn't want to waste it, so I turned it into the background for my lifted ink piece. I embossed it with a Crafter's Companion 3D pine cone ef, and dapped some gold alcohol ink on. Again, I backed my leaf panel with fun foam. Under it, I added some gold cording. I also added some little leaves cut from a tomato paste tube. And for a sentiment I just used some washi tape. For some strange reason this piece was a little under 4" wide, instead of being a half sheet of card - so I added the trimming of a black gel print along the edge, and some white gel pen dots along the bottom part of my extension.

Sabrina, these are absolutely stunning and I have to keep going back to see them. I love what you did with your panels that you had sitting on your desk. So glad that you didn't put them in the bin. They are gorgeous and fav'd.
Thank you for your beautiful samples and for getting "spooked" in my debut challenge. Happy day and hugs

How wonderful that you were able to get a second card from the Lift-Ink, Sabrina...and how creative to use the failed piece for a beautiful background! Gorgeous challenge samples!
