I imagine most of us would like to 'see 2020' in the rear view mirror. There are some funny memes about not turning our clocks back because we don't want an extra hour of it. But, you know, 'it's all perspective' I've had worse years than 2020, but I know I'm lucky. What a mixed bag; some of us want to throw that bag of 'you know what' out.
Good things that happened in 2020: my son went back to school at age 35 (so proud); a friend became a Grandma yesterday!; I got to spend some time at two cottages in northern WI (notice I didn't say 'up nort''); I got to see my granddaughters a few times; I've seen a few friends a few times; I have art; I'm fairly happy, although I know I've put on some Covid weight; I have food, shelter and people who love me.
Some of the 'not so good': my sister in law's Mom died of Covid in April; less time with friends; no hugs to speak of, especially my friend Peggy's hugs (she gives the best ones); all the turmoil of the election; all the turmoil of the election (yes I wrote that twice); no art shows; living alone (sometimes); finding out more people I know have had the virus and are still dealing with its effects; poor Wisconsin!!!!! we're a mess!; education of our children; knowing all the worry others have and are going through. I'm privileged!
I love images that have to do with eyes so that is pretty much what I stuck with. I think the card is pretty self-explanatory. I drew some tears coming from the eyes but the purple eye has some bright glitter pen in the center (look for the brightness!) and it's purple. Could we please be a little more 'purple?' I know, through history, that being committed to a certain set of values has helped humans make great strides, but we need some middle ground, folks. I have hope.
My words for 2020 were 'see more clearly'. I wonder what I will choose for 2021.

What a fabulous take on the challenges, Jean. I love eye images and your Ginbergeque image is awesome. Amazing "reflection" art. Thanks for sharing you +/- recap. May many see more clearly.

Wonderful card Jean! Thanks for sharing your world with us. I love reading everyone's stories. This challenge has helped me get to know everyone better and realize that we all have our individual struggles. My conclusion is that stampers are creative, compassionate people who can still see the beauty in a world that may not be so lovely at present. Sending you BIG HUGS!

Your cards are always so creative. I'm glad you are able to put things into perspective despite all the yucky things round about. Thanks for sharing your card and your story.

What a great collection of eyes! Heard to say which I like the best. The dictionary page is super, and the bling on the lady dresses her up perfectly. The sentiment is great too - sometimes it's hard to keep a good perspective on life.

Yes, it's all about perspective, and thank you for sharing yours. I know I'm lucky to be healthy and working. Funnily enough, one of my clients (I'm a freelance writer), does websites for eye doctors, so I occasionally write about various eye conditions. I'm getting more and more familiar with the sketch in the middle of your card.

Wonderful card and all the emotions it evokes. Love the Ginsburg treatment on your lady...I think she may, well, be crying over the turmoil of the election too. I love your story and the sage advice. Shifting perspectives can mean all the difference. I, too, wish we were more "purple" as I try very hard to see all sides of this mess we call life right now. I hope the positives continue to outweigh the negatives for you. Hugs and stay safe.
