Here is my sample card for Barbara's wonderful colors for Thanksgiving, which is the dessert option. This is my last week as the Color Challenge guest designer for October. I could not decide between posting the CAS version or the stepped up version of my card, so I decide to go out with a bang and show you both.
I started with an acrylic block, a spray bottle and the three ink pads that I have in these colors. I inked up the acrylic block on each ink pad, misted with water & Pearlized Smooch combined together and then stamped on dampened watercolor paper. There is such a lovely shimmer!
Then, I die-cut leaves in the challenge colors and stamped my Thanksgiving sentiment, a favorite of mine in the two fonts. I had fun arranging the colors and selecting what to use for the card base, the mat, and the leaves. The solid leaf was dry embossed for texture. The CAS version was complete. After I took some pictures, I went back and stamped some splatter and added some faceted dots for a stepped up version.
Fabulous colors to work with this week. I hope you will have fun creating. Thanks for looking!

Diane, it has been a pleasure having your design with the team this month! The two versions of this card are both wonderful, and I love how you showed how one can step up an already-pretty card! I must confess I like the stepped up version more! The colors and the leaves are wonderful!

I like your color blocking technique Diane- your CAS version is pretty but the addition of the background splatters and enamel dots added a wow factor. It's been great having you as a guest designer for October

Beautiful Thanksgiving design using the gorgeous fall colors for the challenge. The addition of the shimmer on your color blocks was a great idea .... bet they really sparkle in person. Also like your idea of adding texture to the solid leaf with embossing! I really like both versions of your card, Diane!

Diane, I really admire your work here and in the other challenges. What I love about this card is the color blocking technique with acrylic blocks. Looks awesome. Those beautiful die cut leaves are perfect.
