I'm trying to participate in the Watercolor challenges on Wednesday's but I do not have great watercolor skills. I am learning a lot doing the challenges - but this one came out looking more like an impressionist painting rather than fall trees in the woods!
This is from Kia's challenge on 10/7 and she had this link to a video:
I think I'm using too much water - and I don't know how long to wait, or if I should wait, between adding colors - I ended up using a fine tip brown marker to define the tree trunks .
I want to try this again with a little more patience! Now to try last weeks WCW challenge!!

Your card and watercoloring is beautiful. You captured the glow of the sun, like the video taught us. Adding the definition of the trees really looks great. So glad you are joining the challenges and learning right along with all of us. TFS Fav'd

Julia, you did a WONDERFUL JOB on this! Like Linda said, YOU DID capture the glow of sunshine on this! You not only have beautiful fall leaves on your trees, but on the ground as well! If you are unsure of how much water to add, & when to add color, take some time between the challenges to just PLAY with your water colors, EXPERIMENTING! You will learn SO MUCH from playing! Not necessarily trying to create a picture of anything, but just PLAYING & DISCOVERING how your paints & water react to each other! A SUPER JOB on the challenge!!! AND BIG INKY HUGS DEAR ONE for your SWEET VISIT!!! ;)<3

Impressionist paintings are good and so is this. It turned out beautiful and I like your sun glow. I have found these challenges so much fun and there is a lot to learn. So glad you are joining with us.

I love this because it is different with a morning mist look to me. Knowing when to add colour is something that you will gradually grow into, trust me. Adding wet into wet will blend out your colours, waiting for the piece to dry adds layers of colour to the piece. You are doing a great job Julia - thanks for joining us.
