This week the teapotters are sending special thoughts to a retired fireman in IN. He has fought giant battles his whole life and faces a big one now. Challenge was to add a tag.
It was recently his birthday so I chose to focus on his birthday and his firefighting history in Carson. I found a wonderful painting to guide me on Google paintings, but, of course, now I can't find it. I think it is a pretty famous painting, and I didn't do it justice as my water color technique is very beginner and I have NO patience. Only had 20 minutes too so this is what I have. I think it shows gratitude and recognition of his sacrifice which is what I was going for.
Thanks for looking!

I really don't have an adjective to describe how this card moved me. The thought and sentiment is perfect for Neil. Then there is your painting...it is phenomenal. Thanks for sharing with all of us...Hugs and keep watercoloring-please.

WOWZA! I love this I can almost taste the acrid thickness of that rolling smoke. Beautiful perspective of those firefighters heading into the mouth of the beast.

What a fabulous card for this retired fireman. And, you did this in twenty minutes....wow! I love it and bet he will, also.

I think your painting is very evocative and atmospheric, Nancy. Sometimes I think not having too much time to overwork things can pay off. What a fantastic masculine card. I like the ball chain - I was trying to work one into my card but the raffia was more practical for holding two tags together.

Your painting is phenomenal. As others have already said, it is so evocative of a smoky, fiery scene and the dangers our brave fire fighters face. What a fabulous tribute to Neil. This will surely be a treasure to him and his wife. Hugs.
