What do Buffaloes say when their kids go off to college?
"Bison"
So, today's Tea Party recipient, Neil, loves buffaloes as well softball and his niece, Lisa (Shoe Girl). Neil is ill and needs some inky hugs and cheer. I had intended to find a comical buffalo when I ran across this beautiful mountain silhouette in an Etsy shop and decided to change course.
For the background, I smeared Distress Texture Paste onto my cardstock panel. I left it lumpy and streaked for some textural interest. When it was dry, I ink blended DOs in stripes across the card. Printed. die cut the image and ink blended DOs (Rusty Hinge and Fossilized Amber) over the scene. Adhered to brown circle mat. Added the hemp cord with the tag for this week's challenge. The tag was computer generated using Keep Calm font. Popped the image up on foam tape. Done.
When I think of buffalo, I think of magnificent mountain scenes, like Yellowstone, or beautiful native grass plains. I hope this card brings back some fond memories for Neil of times he has seen his majestic friends. And, I intend to add that corny joke on the inside for a little cheer.
Hope you have a cheery day too. TFL

I really like that distress texture paste background .... love how you colored it by blending ink in stripes!! Just a lovely background to go with that incredible silhouette buffalo and scenic vista! Neil will greatly appreciate your card, I'm sure!

Beautiful fall colors and that double silhouette image if just fabulous. The texture paste in the bg gives me the feeling of rough rocky ridges. SO wonderfully executed that it immediately jumped into my fav's folder.

That is an amazing image. I didn't spot the bison at first - long day in work. What a cool way of creating the background too, I wondered how you got that texture. Thanks for describing how. It looks very like roughly planed wood.
