Karen is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has given us some beautiful colors to work with: Mango Melody, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie and Real Red. The dessert option this week is to use ribbon, but I wasn't able to work the dessert into my project.
I adore this stamp, perfect for a loved one, especially a female. This card is going to my niece, whose birthday is later this month. I stamped the image on hot press watercolor paper. It has the advantage of being smooth, so easier to stamp on than textured cold press watercolor paper, but the paper does not absorb water as well. It's a trade-off! I painted the image with my favorite watercolor set, using colors close to this week's palette. The image isn't a perfect square, so I opted for a rectangle frame, and filled in some of the empty space with narrow washi tape. Added a few sequins and mounted on a real red card base.
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week!

I love this card! Those birds are great and that sentiment is wonderful! I have quite an array of scientists in my family that the sentiment would be so perfect for.
