I watched the video several times on how to paint a simple autumn scene. For me making a yellow sky felt odd but in the spirit of autumn, I went for it. The mountains and water fell into place fairly easily. I could feel a bit of panic when it was time to put in the branches but starting with a faint pencil sketch gave me confidence there.
In the end the leaves which I originally thought "piece of cake" turned out to be the hardest part for me. I REALLY had to concentrate to give it a natural flow rather than the symmetrical trimmed hedgerow look that kept wanting to emerge-lol
I will have to look at this for a few more days before I decide if I really like it or not . . .

No hesitation here about your original painting. You captured the glow of the sun as the instructor showed us in the video. These challenges help us to create, and this is lovely. The mountains and their reflection is awesome along with the branch and leaves. You need to put your signature on this beauty. Glad you joined us this week for an online mini watercoloring class. TFS

Linda, you did a lovely job of watercoloring the leaves of the hanging branch....nice and airy. The yellow sky looks like the sun will be setting soon. Well done!

Really well done and you turned your card into a beauty. Love the mountain reflection and the sun is perfect. Looks as if you had no problem, at all. Oh, and those leaves look awesome.

I so agree with you! I actually painted everything and then had to spend the day in town with my son because of a car repair so I left the leaves until midnight and then I totally messed them up. Thankfully it all came together on my second round but those leaves had me scared! You did a stunning job! I love your leaves at the top and the branch leaves too!

You worry needlessly Linda. This is so very pretty with the reflections and colours working wonderfully. You are doing so well with the challenges - give yourself a pat on the back!

So fun to share this watercolor journey with you, Linda. It feels good to know that you are there, a mere two thousand miles away, overthinking the leaves right along with me. You did an awesome job with the light and the reflection on the water! Cheers!
