It's my pleasure to guest host the Watercolor Wednesday Challenge, WCW018. The technique I chose is Watercolor on embossed paper. I thought it looked interesting but easy enough for everyone.
Since I wanted to make a Halloween card, I chose a couple of Halloween themed embossing folders to go w/ my cute little die cut owl. I embossed the large bg w/ the wordy folder then followed the instructions on the video using bright, Halloween colors of my Peerless watercolors. After it dried, I thought the words didn't really pack the punch I wanted so I inked the inside of the folder w/ black soot Distress oxide ink & embossed the watercolored bg again. Much better! Now the words really show up.
I did the same for the little orange Wicked strip & perched my owl on it.
Thanks so much for looking, It's on my blog w/ closeups & product links: The Write Stuff

So cute. i should have checked out our example before I did mine using this technique. Mine is much too light in color. But it is something new I had never tried before and it was fun.
