'If you've got it, haunt it!' Ms. Serena certainly has got it! She prides herself on being the best dressed scarecrow in Wisconsin, although she doesn't want to scare the crows...she wants to be friends. Crows are too smart to be scared, anyway. Serena is also known for canning and freezing a lot of the crops that she is guarding, like corn, tomatoes, beans, makes her own applesauce and pies.
I used a variety of stuff to make Serena. There is no stuffing inside her, she sticks out because I gathered the top of the burlap. I decided the red/orange yarn could be pigtails, used some pretty buttons and rick rack for the rest of her features and she is blowing a kiss to you and the crows. Her middle name is Rose and she always wears a rose in her hair. Her lace collar is a vintage doily. She is a huge fan of RBG.

This is scary in a pretty way. I love the doily and the roses, your burlap face is very creative!!

Jean that is so creative and brilliantly done. The little bottle tag (hmm, I think I have some somewhere) is sweet. The yarn is perfect hair - I've used it in the past on knitted dolls. I having a blog acquaintance who makes zombie dolls, and this would be right up her street (and more up mine than zombies, I have to admit).
