Mary is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week. What beautiful colors she has chosen: Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Whisper White. The dessert option this week is "enamel dots."
This is the first time I've used this die. What a surprise to discover it doesn't cut out around the design! So after I created the die cut, I used a craft knife and ruler to cut a 1/4" margin all around and a corner chomper to round the edges.
I applied DOX ink to a piece of Bristol cardstock, then attached it behind the die cut. Popped it up on a panel of gray cardstock that I'd run through my embossing machine with the Subtle embossing folder. Added a white bow and a few enamel dots and mounted on a white card base.
As I was getting ready to post, I realized this card can also be in the CYS (Challenge Your Stash) gallery! Each month we post a card on the 28th that we make from items already in our stash. No shopping! This month Tracie is our hostess, and she asked us to feature leaves on our cards. This card has leaves!
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us in the Color Challenge this week!

Beautiful card Barbara! I can imagine your surprise when the die didn't cut the edge. I've had some of those surprises with dies. You handled it wonderfully - very creative!

This is so pretty, Barbara! I love the effect of the DOX shading on the colors peeking through. Now I'm going to have to go check out that other challenge - I have a few leaves in my uncompleted stash.

Beautiful die cut Barbara... You are better than I, using a craft knife to cut the outer edge, you did amazing! I'm giving you a high five girlfriend! Your card design is beautiful with the color showing from behind the die cut! TFS
