I first came across using drywall tape and other tapes in MM about 2 years ago and got hooked, especially on the drywall tape effect. I hadn't tried the crumpled up masking tape look and now am hooked on this.
I had a spare card panel sitting on my desk so simply took that. It had some inks splattered on it and was crying out to be used lol. After adding the tapes I simply sprayed my inks until I was happy. The final spray was a pearl ink and in the light the tag colours shine. Love it.
Usually I leave my drywall tape on my projects for texture but I hadn't stuck them down well and they were starting to come off but leave a great stencilled design that looks as though you've put texture paste through them. I've tried that with this tape before and it does give a cool effect. I liked it so left them on until I had finished and then took the drywall tape off.
Stamped some circles and a butterfly on my card. The butterfly didn't stamp well so I do what I always do with images like this, I took a panel out of my stash, stamped it on that and fussy cut it out. I love fussy cutting. The panel is gorgeous so I hope to use the rest of it on another project. This was from the edges. It's been in my stash for about 18 months when I was experimenting with greaseproof paper and my gelli plate. Not sure what I used but I think acrylic paints as there's some gorgeous pink shine on the panel...you can't see it here and I do use metallic paints sometimes.
I digress....lol....popped the butterfly on top of the stamped one and added bling and my ribbon.
I love MM and this came together so quickly once I got started. Come and play with us..it is fun.
TFL. Happy day

The colours are beautiful, I can imagine the pearly shimmer. The texture looks fab too. I think it probably took me about two years to actually find any drywall mesh tape over here...after trying every DIY store I passed, I finally picked some up in a hardware store beside DH's office.

What a piece of gorgeousnesses this is, Jayne:
I had saved some drywall tape from when we had to repair some walls here when we first bought the place. Not sure where it could be hiding now though. Love the textures you have achieved here and the butterfly is a true delight.

Fab colors, images, and texture, Jayne. The butterfly is so cool and perfect for this tag. I so need to figure out how to do color like this! Hugz
