I love board games and jigsaws and throw in a g&t or a cheeky wine whilst playing with family now and again and that is all I need...fun. When I was making my sample I wanted to have dominos and cards on there and anything else I had in my stash to do with games.
I drew my domino panel and then got out my gelatos scribbling and then rubbing the colour trying not to get the colours blending into each other. So far so good. That's when I remembered I should have put gesso on first..doh! Carrying on I stamp my dots with Memento ink...that rubs straight off. Gosh thank goodness for baby wipes. Out comes the Archival ink and that seems to stay on better but still not perfect so I use my Tombow pen to fill in the blanks.
Onto my altered playing card. I did remember to put gesso on this first lol. A friend from this site sent me some beautiful serviettes (napkins to some of you)...and also the card......thanks Shelly. I tear a piece off and paste that on the card. I was going to leave it pretty simple but I may try and live a simple life but my MM is anything but.
I decided to stencil the word Play on the napkin and outline it with my pen. Then I stencil on gold ink. The stencil got lost so I dabbed some of it off. It is very shiny and golden on the card but looks like a brown blob in this photo. Stamped the stitching.
Back to the base.....I was just about to add my altered playing card but first stamped some TH images that reminded me of a dart board. Finally time to glue everything down.....when the sub conscience remembered...add gel medium to gelatos....did that and it gave it a rustic look. I learnt on a video recently that if you want a smooth look, use a credit card and not a brush so I did.
Then the altered card and emphera added. I was going to stop there but I had some jigsaw chipboard pieces....got out the gelatos again, did more rubbing and painting, added gold and plonked that on and the stickers.
It's busy but I like it. I like fun and I wanted to portray fun and these two girlies would have fun if off to bingo and having a little cheeky wine whilst there. Right now they look as though they lost at something lol.
TFL. Happy day

This is super fun, Jayne. Love the game theme and the colors. Very cool adventure too. The girls are probably having fun but the one on the left needs another glass of cheeky wine (or maybe she had too many glasses?) - lol. Love the altered martini glass card too. Once I audited a bank that was partially owned by Bebe Rebozo and someone gave me his supposed martini recipe... I am sure they made it up but it was a fun story to tell back when people still knew who he was and that Nixon loved his martinis. Fun card! Many hugz

Jayne, I just love collage cards because they have so many wonderful elements of art in them. So many wonderful things you used on this one!I love how many ways you have depicted the numbers 1-7 on your card. I love the vintage photo of the ladies, and it reminds us all of the days of just simple fun games before electronics took over. I love everything about this fabulous piece.
