CC809 - Barbara picked pumpkin pie, Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green - I picked as close as I could colors - the lighter red is a light wash of the darker red - the gesso makes it even lighter. There was some bleed through from the page before and the patterns it created in my colors are very interesting. I think my flowers look like Autumn so maybe I can get partial credit on the extra points.
WCW016 - Angie picked Negative Water-coloring. This an easy way to color multiple flowers but I am going to have to practice more! My lack of patience and the fact that you have to visualize the focus before painting layers 2 and 3 are at odds, but I learned and that is what is important.
IC772 - Stacy picked Soft Surroundings and I picked these great looking field of poppies sheets:
I used the large pink one to be my inspiration for the flowers I drew. I love those sheets and would purchase them if they were not almost $200.
BAJ20 - Julie selected harvest, fruit or anything from Luke. I am still doing my last few pages from Psalms. I have flowers and harvest colors. So it works.
The scripture is Psalms 128. I have read it fast in the past, and thought it a happy Psalm and didn't really dig in. It is indeed sung at births and marriages and when homes are happy and praising God, but it has many deeper meanings. I focused on the fear of God as a beacon for living, making decisions, guiding your days in general. When we forget He is there and go about our lives, that is when we run into trouble and separate from Him. I have days like that - more than I care to admit. Focusing hard on not doing it today.
I added a little nod to RBG today, I don't know much about her faith or walk with God, but I loved her championship of minorities, the afflicted, and the persecuted. God loves us every one.

I totally agree about the need to focus on that WC challenge - It's not always an easy decision to figure what is topmost and what are underlying layers. Really beautiful colors on your page of blooms and I love how the underlying layers of lighter color are peeking through the succeeding layers.

This is beautiful, Nancy. Love all those repeated flowers in these wonderful fall colors. Such a powerful scripture to feature as well.

I found the challenge much more challenging than I thought when I picked it!! It took me three attempts and I am not really sure I did it right but wow, what a lovely experience to try! There is just something about watercolor! Your flowers look amazing and it looks like you did a great job with light and shadows! Beautiful scripture!

You have me in tears, Nancy.....I am in mourning for RBG...such a giant among women and all humans. Thank you for this. I don't cry easily so you know this is big for me. What a glorious water color journal page. And I love your drawing at the bottom. You could also put this in for yesterday's MIX. I think it is quite remarkable that she died during Rosh Hashanah.
