I applied the inks to my non-stick craft mat, spritzed each with water, and dipped my photo paper into the puddles/drops. After each go-around of that, I dried the ink with my heat tool. After I'd covered the panel with as much color as I wanted, I used a wet baby wipe to wipe the surface of the paper. This removes the chalky finish, and reveals all the bright, bold colors.
With the background panel a full A2 size, I hated the chaotic riot of colors. So I decided to take some advice from Jennifer McGuire & die cut it into smaller pieces. I used all 4 of the frame dies to cut it down. Counting the center piece of the smallest frame, that gave me enough pieces for up to 5 cards.
For my greeting on this card, I decided to use a "sending hugs" stamp I'd gotten from Lawn Fawn as a gift with an order. It fit perfectly in the smallest frame I'd die cut. I laid out my frame & stamp on a dark blue, A2-size panel to plan my layout. But that was just waaaaay too CAS for my tastes! So I decided to emboss the background, just for a little added interest. I created my own diffuser by cutting a piece of matboard to 4-1/4x5-1/2". I used a "Rounded Rectangle" die that was just slightly smaller than my frame to cut a window in the matboard. I did have to finish the cut with a craft knife, since the matboard was too thick for the die to cut all the way through. I placed my cardstock in the embossing folder, taped the diffuser on the front of the folder, covering where the cardstock was, & ran it through my die cutting machine. The diffuser puts the pressure on the frame, leaving the window not embossed. I actually had to do it twice, since the first time I had a bit too much pressure and the dots embossed even in the die cut window. The second time was the charm, though, and I got an embossed frame with a smooth window area!
I white heat embossed the greeting, and glued my frame in place. I ended up trimming 1/8" from each side of my panel, then mounted it to a white card base. I had die cut leaves left over from another card, so I glued 3 of them in an arrangement below the frame. I tied a double bow from some thin jute twine, and used a bit of Ranger Multi Medium Matte to glue that in place at the top of the leaves.
