It's my pleasure to be your hostess in the Color Challenge this week. I have selected Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie and Garden Green, with the dessert option to make an autumn card.
Last week I made a faux-gel press card. I was so pleased with the results, I bought a "real" gel press and used it to make this week's card. Remember that old line, "Beginner's Luck"? Well, it's true! I'm not showing you my first two attempts this week. ;-)
But like everything else in life, practice with a gel press improves your skills, so I persisted. I ended up using Festive Berries and Spiced Marmalade (brayered) for the first two "pulls," drying between each layer. Next I applied a layer of Mowed lawn, brayered again, then put down the leaf stencil, and made another print. Just like last week, finally a happy "Wow!" One of the best aspects of using a gel press is that you never know what results you're going to get!
The rest of the card kinda made itself. I picked up the "sending smiles" die that was on my table, cut it with Garden Green cardstock, and colored the shadow layer with Spiced Marmalade DOX ink. Used a thin frame die to make the inner border, then mounted on a Cherry Cobbler card base. As a finishing touch, I covered the greeting with Glitter Gloss for a little sparkle.
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week!

WOW! I'm impressed! I just received my gel press this week and I feel the gauntlet has been thrown. I'll need to try it out soon. I love your background!

I believe you've already got the gel press mastered Barbara! However, you are correct, it's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get! One advantage for sure, you can get multiple prints and take your choice! lol! Your challenge was a fun one, thank you! Love your bright and cheery card!

The colors melded nicely and the stencil leaves pull it all together. Very nice composition.
